Ok. this is probably a dumb question, but where should I place my subwoofer in my room. As of now I have my subwoofer under my desk and centered. The one problem I have is that I still mix in too much bass. If I stand up and move around my room I hear a drastic increase in the sub. Should I walk around my room, find where I hear the sub the most, and place it there?

hi i am running a 16 channel mixer with mics and all running through it and then running my mixer into my sound card. i dont want to record midi. i want to record from the mic and the input on my sound card i dont know what software programs to use to just record all i want to do is record why is this so complicated. someone help me.

Hey all, I'm new here. can anyone suggest a fix to this problem? When I plugin my delta 1010 all I get is feedback and the power light doesn't come on. This has happened several times in the past but disconnecting the cable and trying again would work. Now all I get is feedback on all the input channels. I was thinking maybe I have a bad cable, hopefully its not f**ked.

Ive been reading a lot about side-chaining in terms of compressors and other effects. but what sort of sound do you get from it? and what are its advantages? i really just dont understand... and after reading all the awesome 'sidechain' shoutouts... it frustrates me. can anyone shed some light por favor?

Well ok. I dont want to go much past the 500 dollar range. I want to be able to record into my Latop for live shows or home use, and use the same system in my studio on my larger computer to record bands. So I require either USB or Firewire interface. I dont want to get a system that requires a proprietary pcmcia or pci card, becuase I want to be able to hook it up to anything.

I'm sure there are many of you out there that use this card as a primary means of getting audio into the box. I've only recently started using it, and so far I thoroughly enjoy it. My main question is a pretty simple one -

Based on a simple internet search and what I know of the industry, it has come as no surprise that there are very few mastering houses that are dedicated to, or extremely knowledgeable of classical type music. (When I use the term classical, I am referring of course to all music orchestral and chamber) There are very few who I personally would trust my higher end mixes with.

I've recorded a jazz band a few times
(in one of their homes, living room)
I'm starting to get a good sound on disk

In a few weeks they'll be playing live in a foyer (sort of)
Think 8x8meters and 4 meters high
There'll be about 40 visitors

Maybe some of you have some recording tips for me
