Hi there I'm looking to purchase a 8 channel preamp.

Just wanted to remind folks about a problem I encountered with AKG headphones years ago. The entire AKG headphone line is out of "absolute phase" with the rest of the world. This can be easily verified by placing one headphone cup over your mic and then sending a 1khz test tone from your daw to it and then record it.

According to Digidesign, for PTLE 6.7 the only compatible G4 processors are dual 867mhz and up or single 933mhz and up. Has anyone tried using anything a little slower?

Just a note of caution to all M-80 owners, the meters on my M-80 do not read correctly for frequencies below 200 hz. I have noticed this on two other M-80's in our area and I am wondering if they all do this? To test you take a test tone oscillator and feed the M-80 a 1 khz tone at 1 volt, adjust the gain to read 0 db on the M-80.

I'm really digg'n the sounds of the Motif rack. My friend has one in his synth rack. I love the sounds, and when they're compared to other manufactuer's sounds, they seem to sound better.

Does anybody know of any funk web sites/forums that discuss different drum Micing recording techniques (close miking) and instrument recording for recording a funk band. or of anyone has any tips tricks to achive this sound. Im am especially looking at the sound that the JB's achieved in the 70's
