Temples of Sound- inside the great recording studios

HEy all, quick comment. I just received "temples of sound" by jI'm cogan and william clark, and it's a really cool read. Lots of info and great layout and design.

Not to mention an entire section devoted to Bill Putnam and his ground breaking designs (and records).

Check it out.

A General Rock home studio?

Hi,
I'm trying to start building a home studio for my band and hopefully some buddy groups. I have used Digi 001 with a previous guitarist and though it was great. I am not necessarily sold only on Pro Tools though. I was looking at the E-MU 1820M, the Aardvaark Q10 (not now after they closed) or Pro Tools Digi001 or 002.

tell me one beneficial mutation example - if there is

i always hear the same examples; antibiotics resistance of bacteria, ddt, anemia examples…. These are all invalid. Just please tell me one valid example of beneficial mutation if there is. Also backup your example please. By the way i suggest you to check this before you write http://www.evolutiondeceit.com/

Recording a flute at home

I'm wondering some of you folks might have some advice on doing this. For a track I am working on recording, a portion of the melody will be (hopefully if I can get this to work) played on a flute. I am doing this at home, recording it in my appartment. My fiance, who plays the flute, offered to actually play the part, rather than having me sequence it with samples.
