i am trying to send a wav file to someone to be mastered but it is to large to email is there another way. i dont want to turn it into mp3 because the quality will be lost. i heard you can put it on a server but i dont know how, dose any one have any ideas for me?

When i read people saying try rolling off a "blah" freq do i do that on computer (sound forge 7.0)? if so where in sound forge?

I am recording with a begringer mixer, boss br 532 (i know it sucks), and then going to my computer through the digital out

I am getting good sound if commercial is a 10 I'm at an 8

Now the problem - I'm not using ANY preamps and they needed?

Any suggestions on the best way to sync up my Uptown Automation system with Pro Tools HD?

Currently we are running MIDI out of the Uptown PC to a Unitor into PTools. Operation is hit or miss.

One option is the Digi SYNC I/O. I guess another would be a sync box with word clock out. (like aardsync)

Has anyone had luck/failure with either option...or others?

Can someone please explain these terms to me? From what I understand, these are simply the LEVELs that a particular piece of gear is optimized to perform at (+4 dBu being at a much louder signal level than -10 dBV <- Is this correct?) .

when I record a band they all get plugged into a head phone amp so each person can hear what they are doing over the recording and i can hear as well and can adjust their levels to their preference.

A friend heard that you will have latency problems is your RAM is not matched, i.e. a 256MB with a 512MB as opposed to two 256MB sticks. Anyone else heard/experienced that?

I'm getting ready to buy a computer for recording and want to know this first.

I had never gotten into loops before as my main program is Digital performer for the mac and acid is only for the PC and I had never played around with it. Several months ago I got Soundtrack for the mac and I started playing around with it a little bit.

Let's see what kind of stuff we get for this one. Let's make it "worst production on well-known albums"(no unheard of bands). I would like to know some of those albums where everything is right except the production. Good performance, good songs, good groups, bad recordings.
