can anyone recommend a good collection of piano samples for use with a soft sampler (logic exs24 or kontakt).

The genre of music, for lack of a better description, is moody/experimental pop/rock. So probably a collection that is not too bright and chimey... something a bit darker... but not too dramatic (how's that for vague).

any thoughts are appreciated...

I am using the MBox with a Toshiba Laptop. I am buying a new external firewire hardrive. Need to know if anyone has any opinions on which hard drive would be better. LaCie or Ezquest. I can't afford a glyph or other over priced units. Any suggestions?
I also want to make sure these both work with Pro Tools. I was told most Hard drives with Oxford chipsets will work...

I'm planning to purchase a good drum set to put the final touches to a 12'x10' vocal/recording booth I'm currently building. I wanted to get some feedback from a few drummers as far as what material would sound better. And what brand would be best for this. Also keep in mind that I'm not looking to spend a lot, because I'll need to purchase a few mics for this kit. Any suggestions?

I've just gotten my new eBay Roland VM-3100 digital and RPC pci card (by m-audio) together and more or less running on my Mac G4, OS9. It's been a pretty steep climb for me. But I've discovered that I don't much care for the Emagic logic/rpc software that came with the package and I want to return to using Cubase VST/24.

I'm a broadcasting major currently in school and I recently updated my mixer to the Eurorack UB1832FX Pro. I had a smaller Eurorack before and had it hooked up to my laptop to record things for school and other projects.

Well, I just gave 'em my credit card.

I'm getting:

• G5 dualproc 1.8 w 1.256 RAM 60+120G HD
• MOTU 896HD
• DP 4.1.2 (upgrade from Perf)

I will need advice from y'all as I move my dinosaur analog ass into the digital age. Any thoughts?

Currently I use a Yamaha 02R, but I'm running out of channels and the ADDA extension card gives me level problems all the time : no synth seems to get more than -12 dB out of this card, so I'm pretty much limited to the 24 input channels with gain.
