How Would You Pan Guitars?
Forums
Hi Everybody!
I've been lurking for a while here, but now I've registered and joined the fray. I'm a video, audio and DVD producer, and also a drummer - go ahead and hit me with the drummer jokes - I can take it! :<)

DIGI 002R vs MOTU 828 MKII
Forums
This is the dilemma I am in at the moment. What annoys me a little is the fact that I can not find detailed specs on the MOTU website therefore I can't really do an A/B comparison on paper.
What do you think?

How can a soundtrack musician get noticed?
Forums
How can a soundtrack artist get noticed like James Horner, Hans Zimmer, etc? I've been trying my hardest, but I just get small commercial jingle work, and PSA work, and maybe a couple of my friends movie soundtracks, but that's it. I have a ton of songs that cater to the soundtrack listeners, but that genre is hard to get noticed because I can't perform.

which compressor to keep?
Forums
Hello,
bought a bunch of stuff last week from a studio that's closing down. It included a Bellari RP583, a dbx 160S and 2 dbx 165.
We need to sell some of the stuff to finance the deal. Any ideas on which compressors to keep?
I love all three of them, but my favourite so far is the dbx 165.
Let me hear your opinions!

Digital Console Input Needed
Forums
I am starting to get frustrated at how few decent analog consoles one can buy for $2000. I've been outbid on eBay for a Ghost and an A&H GS3 and I'm not sure I want to make a deal with the Mackie 8 Bus devil yet.

Hi - just registered today and been looking back through the forum archives - so much info! great site.
Just wondering if anyone knows the moog settings used on the intro sound by the wailers on "stir it up".
Or has anyone found or created a similar patch for the malstrom synth on reason ?

sm 57 choice...
Forums
heyhey!
I have only one sm 57, and normally i use it in combination with a Neumann km140 for snare, and ofcourse it's brilliant for distorted guitar...
The thing is though, if i want to record a complete band simultaneously, i have to make the choice where to put my only 57..

making your own patch cables?
Forums
Hi all...I've heard several people talk about making their own patch cables. I have a set that I purchased from the store, and didn't really think twice about them until today. My entire rack is wired with nice cabling (Monster) except for the patch cables- so what is the cheapest way to go about upgrading without spending big $$$? Thanks!
