though I have years of experience recording stuff, I never really had an opportunity like I am facing right now.

A Nashville Musician who has previously released CDs and has been on TV, Media, and the charts liked a demo of my recent project I did at home. He called me and wants me to record his next ablum at his home, and I could use my gear to do it.

As you know I am looking for some active nearfeils in the GBP£1,600 price range.

Then I thought what if I got second-hand? I could get some truly GREAT ones!

But where to buy from? I searched Google and I couldn't find a lot. Are there any good places to buy high-end second-hand studio stuff? I can't find any! Only new equipment!

In a post in another forum Roger Nichols states that he did a shoot with a Rane ms1 preamp ($150 retail) and it came out either first or second everytime with an Avalon preamp... he also states that he did a whole steely dan album using nothing but ranes... Any one tried the Rane Ms1 preAMP?

I finally downloaded the trial version and I'm sold on it for sure. I will soon be selling my D4 and drum machines. Great mixing tool. However I have a few questions for those experienced drumagog users before I buy it.

MAN O MAN! what a LOUD amp. I would prefer recording a loud marshall, for sure, even tho I love the way it sounds. I can not seem to capture the GRIT of this amp. I am direct Micing it in the middle of the speaker with a 421, and off axis with a 57. Anyone tackle this beast before? I know I can capture the POWER and GRIT this beast has SOMEHOW! Omni?
