On average what does a recording engineer charge an hour? Does it differ when they are solely mastering or is it a fixed rate?

hi...i bought 2 sticks of 512 ddr 333 pc 2700 kingston...the box it was with kingston name on it and on the chips of the sticks it was an autocolant with the kingston name too...but all the chips had the samsung name on it...and there it was writen that they were ansambled in china...

I'm building my budget to my new forth coming studio.
My main interest would be working in logic environment and producing electronic music(using synths,softsynths,samplers and plugins).

alright, tonight I tried to boot up my computer and it was having problems. A message came up that said something to the effect of "There's a problem with your hardware. Check the Hardware Monitor for details." So I checked the hardware monitor but there was no explanation of anything, just fan speed and voltage ratings.

I'm tired of turning off the monitor everytime I want to record electric guitar.
Would of of those flat monitors help with that. I'm trying to convince my wifre that I need it.

Has anyone ever used CBI cables (http://www.cbicables.com). A friend of mine who works in a music store swears by them and can get me a good deal on some. CBI uses Belden cable and Neutrik connectors. I've heard from people on this forum that Neutrik connectors are the best. What about Belden cable?

Hi folks, I hope I am posting in the right place.
I am trying to get a boss br 8 to my 001 via light pipe to transfer some trax. I use ADAT Light pipe out to 001 all the time for the extra ins, but I can not seem to bet the little boss unit to send to PT via Light Pipe.
I am thinking that the boos would jsut go in place of the ADAT in the signal chain.

Hi, i always read posts recomending the "over the shoulder" position to mic a guitar. I understand that you put a mic over the shoulder of the player (Duh!) but... pattern polar? Omni to simulate the hearing of the player? Which microphones would you recommend (Condenser/dynamic, Large/short diaphragm, etc.)? Right or left shoulder?...

I'm still trying to figure this one out. Only the giga files do this. SF2, wave, akai...all OK. But the giga versions of anything I've grabbed online (NSKIT and other freebees) all play and then echo into infinity.

anyone have a fix/thought?
