live-multitracking on PC
Forums
Hallo,
I'm new here and I've got a newbie question:
Is it possible to multitrack a live-set on a PC?
I've got a FOH-mixer with 16 direct-outs (pre or post). What else do I need? (CPU, Ram, HD, interface,...)
Thanks.

Youve written a song, so how do you go about selling it
Forums
Youve written a song and you want to sell it to someone else. How do you go about doing this.
Can anyone suggest a good place to sell songs. Anyone signed up with tonos. Aparently there good.
Im talking about those organisations that post out newsletter and stuff with bands and solo artists looking for new original songs.
Any advantages in a Xeon based system?
Forums
... I have no idea if a Xeon workstation would be beneficial to audio work. I've read the specs on the Intel site, but the only difference I've seen between the Xeon and P4 is that the Xeon lacks the newer (untested) technologies. Is there a different cache structure than the P4? Greater throughput?

PC-Mac link
Forums
I would like to be able to simply set up a cable between my PC and Mac to transfer digital audio files. Can this be done and how? Do I need a special software interface? What kind of physical cable is best for this?

Sampling forum..
Forums
Where is there no forum set up to discuss the fine are of sampling alone? You know, techniques, gear, sources, secrets, whatever. I guess that it could go hand in hand with a lot of things here but I feel that it is something that could use some "special" attention!
Just a thought,

Help with a cheap digital transfer
Forums
Anyone know someone in Chicago who can do a digital transfer for me? I've got drum tracks on 1/2" 8 track analog that I would like sampled as .wav's at 88.2 / 24. It's not too easy to find a studio with a 1/2" 8track machine. Thanks

Building my first DAW - Newbie Questions
Forums
This will be my first scratch build dedicated DAW. Ive searched around the forums but still have many questions - I'm sorry if these have been gone through before.
I do not need up to the minute performance - Im trying to do this on my college student budget. Something based around a P4 2 - 2.4 processor would be ideal. I have all the accessories, OS etc. - all I need is a box.
