What was the worst decision you ever made purchasing equipment for your studio? Don't hold back, it's time to confess your sins to "Fata Fats"!

The topic title speaks for itself. Which do you think is the best approach? Advantages of one over the other? I’m not questioning software but rather hardware issue. Your opinions please?

Ive heard of many engineers who run final mixes onto 2' tape what is the purpose of this ; is it for the tape saturation and if so can magneto do the same thing .. please respond

I'm importing all my 24bit .wav files (14 songs times two to eight tracks each) into n-Track last night and playing them for the first time in a multitracker. This is FUN! The files were exported on CD from my Tascam 788 digital portastudio (standard .wav format with no compression.)

Does anyone out there know if the differences in sound are as different as the price of these 2 units? The mpx 550 is going for around $500 and the PCM 91for $1500. Was wondering if the latest tech. of the mpx 500 was as good or close to the older PCM 91 .

I found another set of 1000's on ebay.

Hi folks
I've been trying to sync up a Swissonic AD96 MKII with an RME 9652 and a Lucid DA9624.
Things were generally unstable with wrong sample rate displays on the RME and a flashing lock light on the Lucid until I removed the BNC terminator from the T connector on the RME word clock in.
Anyone know if not terminating the last piece in the chain is OK?
