Hello!

I have a gig coming up recording a Grand Piano, Clarinet, Violin, Cello and Soprano playing a 12 minute classical piece on location in a small hall. I don't have a lot of experience recording classical music, and am wondering how best to approach the recording.

The stage is 4 meters deep, and about 12 meters wide.

Here's one i would like to know more about.

it's been said there is one primary manufacturer in China making mics that are badged for various audio companies. can someone tell me who that company is, where the plant is, which mics they manufacture and which companies sell their mics?

I have 2 Firestudio Projects hooked up to Behrskhg98y4winger powered speakers. Recently, the overall volume has significally decreased in the left channel. I am ruling out the monitors, because it affects the headphone outputs too. I messed around in the Universal Control settings, Windows Settings, Sonar settings, and ASIO settings.

Not sure where to turn to next.

I'm looking to make some decent home recordings. I realize I'm not going to get pristine recordings with my current situation but would just like some tips if at all possible. What I have so far is an Apogee One, Macbook Pro with Logic Pro and am about to purchase the Blue Bluebird Microphone.

I have a large (mostly) Buchla synthesizer system which has quadraphonic mixing (front-left, front-right, rear-left, rear-right ) with full panning ablitity, reverb etc.. (why doen't my "Enter" key work here?) ...

I live in an apartment so Micing an amp isn't really an option. I got myself a Voice Tonelab ST which I really like and with my new Fender Strat I quite like some of the tones I'm getting out of pairing them together.

Chris Watson is creating a sound map of Sheffield to be exhibited in a soundscape at our Millennium Gallery. Chris is looking for contributors to submit sounds of the city and surrounding areas. It's a project that I'm sure a large part of your audience will be interested in participating in.

No idea of the cost of this but it looks very cool.
