Quiet 2 channel field-recorder for nature recording
Forums
I have been happily using the Zoom H4N and have recorded lots of wonderful nature sounds, and now I am looking to bump up the quality of my nature field-recordings by buying a field recorder with QUIET preamps .
BUT, unfortunately I don't have the money for one of those kick-butt Sound Devices machines. .
Voice-over Recording Technique for newb?
Forums
Hello all,
I'm a complete novice when it comes to high-endmicrophones and audio recording. I'm familiar with recording on USB microphones which basically do most of the work for you.
However, since I do video production, I've decided to step up my audio game for voice-overs.

Help please for an old codger
Forums
Hi all,
Many years ago before retiring I was a professional photographer and part time DJ on a local radio station in Bath.
Then I had loads of gear, but managed to do all my mixing and editing on 'SOUND FORGE 5' which I found amazing and simple to use.

Personnally, I'm using Sonar x2. I know it's not the best, but I know it so well. It'll take me too much time to master another software...
Anyone use ezdrummer?
Forums
Wondering if anyone has used it with their music and how they liked it? Our drummer from our old band is now in prison and we would rather use something like ezdrummer for our new CD we are doing.

Best way to keep a perfect/even beat?
Forums
Let's say I'm recording MIDI with my piano, and I use a metronome. So far so good.
But when I have to cut, for instance, a 4/4 beat section out of the track that I just recorded, it seems almost impossible to have a perfect cut to where I could put that cut right next to each other and have perfectly 2 times that 4/4 beat.

Allen & Heath Qu-16 digital mixer
Forums
New mixer announcement from A+H: the Qu-16. This looks as if it's their answer to the PreSonus SL series, and it seems to have some advantages: 16 buses, motorized faders, recallable gains on the preamps , direct multi-track recording to USB memory stick or USB hard drive, dSnake and ME Personal Mixing compatibility.
I haven't seen any pricing information as yet.
