Higher Volume/ Lower Distortion

So I have a Yamaha EMX5014C mixer. I have it plugged into my computer to record into MixCraft6. I can record, but when all my levels are up, (the recording level on MixCraft is up, the volume is up on MixCraft, the volume is up on my computer speakers, the gain and compression are both all the way up on the mixer), I still have a very low and distorted recording.

Anyone tested the Aphex 207 or the Pre-73 ?

I was looking for used gear in my area and found :
An Aphex 207 dual pre for 300$ and a Golden Age Project Pre 73 for 200$

I own a dbx 576 (tube pre and tube compressor combo) and while it's being bashed a lot on forums, it served me ok for years. But I'm looking for little update and have some options. (mainly for vocals, guitars etc...)

Your Workflow from Final Mix to Final Product?

Hey guys, I'm in the final stages of producing my first Album. DAWS differ too widely to make that part specific (I'm using reason 6), but I'm concerned about screwing something up before I send my final product out to the copyright office, CDbaby, itunes, etc. I've listened to my mp3's on about everything I can find, from computer speakers to high-end audio systems.

PC Multi-Track Recording from multiple sources

Hello all. Kyle Vegas here. Brand new to your community and hoping to expand my knowledge over time. I found your forum by searching the very question I'm about to ask, which was asked elsewhere but I wasn't very clear on the results of the discussion. I'll double this question as an intro to my experience with audio and what I'm working on at the moment.
