I have a friend who just bought a 2408 after being told by the salesman that it is all he needed to dump three sync-ed Da-88 into the PC.

I noticed Sweetwater had Soundelux E47's for sale. What's the story on this mic? Is it modeled to be similar to the U47? Thanks for any info.

I wonder, how many of you pro engineers are still recording on tape?

I'm only interested in the professional engineers because the majority of the home recording guys are using a DAW I guess :)

Ok...upgrading my IBM box, maximum memory is only 384 MB :( (3X 128 MB).

Question: For audio apps, should I use parity or non-parity memory. I understand that error-checking can slow down the memory, but does it help with audio apps?

I have a ViewSonci E771 monitor. Whenever I boot up my computer my previous settings are never stored...I always have to re adjust the settings. I was told that I need to turn off the monitor with it's own on/off switch, that didn't work. Is there a way for my computer to remember the settings?

What monitors do you use for mixing?

So I get the concept of absolute Phase and why its important but can anyone describe what a mix without absolute phase would have the one with it would have. I am concerned cause I realised half way through a record the other day that my Kick trigger was out of phase when it was hitting the console due to faulty wiring.
