Fairly accurate voice recording?
Forums
Hi all, Nothing super professional going on here but I want to be able to record my voice fairly accurately. I know nothing about recording so I hope you can advise me on a beginner level. Is the mic the most important consideration and place to put your money?

I want to break through the barrier!
Forums
I've been recording a while, as an MC.
I've been doing free shows in my city and I'm relatively well known locally.
The problem is, is that I'm broke with no money to spend on my image and distribution and stuff like that.
No money for videos and cameras and all that.

AD Converter?
Forums
I'm looking to buy a new converter in the near future.
I would like 16 channels.
Either usb, firewire, or thunderbolt
Preferably under $2000, but don't let the price limit your suggestions. I want to purchase quality equipment.
DA conversion is not necessary, but two channels of it would be nice. I'm okay with buying a separate DA converter.

Chris Lord Alge, SSL chat - isn't this basically what we are all doing and more ITB?
Forums
The automation on the SSL looks pretty dated to me but I understand the love of a big desk and access right in front of me. Classic example of we get used to what we are familiar with and sometimes even blind to other technology. He lost me on the recall. Most DAW's and a hybrid rig, for the most part will kick this gem out of the arena. Yes, no, maybe so?
Ethernet Audio LX6464ES card.
Forums
I record our Sunday Services and other live events every week and I have to say, the audio is amazing! Much cheaper then a Pro Tools HD system. I've been using this card for about 2 years now and this has to be the most under rated card out there. Anyway, read on.

For those of you using or curious about how to use an 1176 (hardware or plugin ), Fad Dupont http://puremix.net/… has a new video on it. As usual, this new tutorial is excellent.

So I'm getting a new computer for the studio and I need some advice!
Forums
I'm getting a new computer for the studio, and here is what it should be able to do/handle.
Computer will...
1. Have to run Pro Tools 8/9HD/10 without ever having a glitch, lag, or latency problem.
