Do I need more equipment?

My gear is setup to record into my PC. All works well, except that my input is extremely low (as seen within my DAW). Do I need an amp to boost my signal just before it enters my PC?

Here's my setup:

Microphone (Shure SM58S) --> Mixer (Behringer Xenyx X1622USB) --> PC Win 7, recording with GoldWave software (using USB cable from mixer to PC)

Home Studio Speaker set-up

Greetings everyone ! I'm (of course) new here but have experimented in home recordings since '05.
I have a small DAW in a spare bedroom. Im PC and run Sonar 5 (yeah, thats old), but its mostly for song creation and being able to play along with.
I've just recently retired from the "bar" scene as a guitarist, and have 4 PA speakers.
2) JBL JRX125

Need some advice to get started with recording my on music :)

Hey I'm Matthew,
I wanna start recording my own music but i want to make ALL of it my own.
Now i have an interesting idea here so bear with me lol.
I found a cheap lil piece of recording equipment and i'll add the link or pic of it once ive typed all this.
This is a Guitar USB chord.

Signal Chain question: Recording Direct into DAW with Guitar Rack Preamp

I'm looking to record without Micing an amp or using desktop/software amp modelers. Would this be possible, correct to do this for signal chain:

Guitar > Guitar Cable > Guitar Rack Preamp (ADA MP1 or Marshall JMP1) > Stereo Cable > Apogee Duet FireWire Interface Line In > MacBook Pro > DAW

Internal HD reliability

I'm looking at upgrading both my internal and external HDD drives to add some storage.
Both Seagate and WD 2TB models.
I've been seeing mixed reviews of the Seagate models (both internal and external)...
They're primarily positive. But the XHDs seem to have issues with cooling, and both issues with failure / not being recognized.
