8 track reel-to-reel to daw?
Hi all,
I've just acquired a Fostex 8-track reel-to-reel recorder and an looking to record onto tape and then send the 8 tracks INDIVIDUALLY from the unbalanced rca/phono output to my daw.
Does anyone know the easiest path to do this?

Are people really this gullible and stupid?
We all know how tricky 'quality' is to assess and quantify, but I cannot believe people have the nerve to sell a USB to hard-drive cable for £159 - and promise that it sounds wonderful

UVI releases plate reverb.
On my cheap-as-it-gets phone there are some pretty convincing (medium) room sounds especially on electric guitar. Other than that I have no idea what to this a sounds like.

A warning about WAVES software!
I purchased Waves Diamond for $349 just about 3 1/2 years ago. When my motherboard failed, I replaced it and I was given a new Windows product key (no charge by Microsoft by the way). I wound up having to "recover" my Waves license. As it turned out, the motherboard that I bought was a lemon, so I just got a new computer, and once again I was prompted to "recover" my Waveslicense again.

Apple Mojave - and Cubase doing a strange thing?
I upgraded to Mojave on my MacBook, and the first time I used Cubase it came up with some questions. Cubase wants to access your microphone? Yes/No, which makes sense, it asked my about another process I OK'd then it said "Cubase wants to access your contacts" - which I thought about and said no to. Anyone know why on earth Cubase would even want to access my contacts for?
Looking for external soundcard w/ coax inputs. Transfer DATs to Laptop
Hi I have lots of DATs I need to transfer to my laptop. I'm looking for an external soundcard that does a straight digital pass through without resampling, unless told to do so. It needs to have coax in and USB out. Please help with suggestions. I'm open to other ideas to get the music to my laptop without unwanted resampling. Thanks!
