I recently wrote and recorded a song. I wrote all the music except for the vocal melody which was written by my song-writing collaborator along with the lyrics. I am fairly proud of this song and I'd like to get some feedback but to be honest, I'm a little worried about it getting snatched for something.

I record high gain guitars usually at a pretty good volume and I when I do this I want the room to be involved as little as possible.

Hi, I am trying to record vocals and have been for years. The problem is, there is digital noise or hum while no sound is going into the mic. I have turned off the mic and there is still the same hum. I have unplugged the mic, still same noise.

A while back I was trying to decide whether to buy a 27inch iMac or a Rain Recording PC. I went with the PC and would first like to say I've been seriously happy with it. The beginning of the process for the G String Stranglers is a rough recording. This is how we record in a garage without separate partitions. We are using a Digital 16 track workstation (Yamaha AW 16-G). We run one mic to the snare, one to the bass kick, one to the guitar, one to the vocals. We hook the bass guitar up direct through the hi-z input.

I need a pr of sdc's for recording acoustic guitar. I'm considering the RODE nt-5's, Avantone CK-1, and the Studio Projects C-4. What is your opinion?

Here is an example of a wide white noise effect used in a track which seems to have no phase cancellation whatsoever. If you mono the sample the white noise shows zero phasing and sounds exactly the same in mono. Any idea's on how the hell this is done? All my attempts and techniques have left me with big wide sounds but with slight phasing.

Been lurking around these forum's for a while. Finally able to start building my mic closet slowly. Looking at building up a set of drum mics, starting with some studio projects c4's and a set of Sennheiser e604's. Wanted to ask if anyone had any strong feelings for/against these mics?
