OK - I have way more equipment than I need and have made mistake after mistake in purchasing and getting in over my head with stuff I probably don't need. Can you help or make suggestions?

I do a reasonable amount of live work. Midas as you would all know is a live sound reinforcement leader. Very expensive. And i rarely get to work with them.

Just read bout the XL42 rack mount dual channel pre and eq.

I know this should probably be an inquiry to the company and not a recording forum, but you guys are the pros and I want pro opinions, not a product recommendation.

I've been toying with the idea of taking some classes in recording engineering, maybe even pursuing some kind of degree. Does anyone in the forum have any suggestions about schools, etc? It'd have to be something I can do from home since I work full-time.

I did a little search on this forum and did not see many results for people's opinions of how they like to/would mike a pedal steal guitar rig. Any thoughts?

A lot of the bands I watch live performances of online have a dude playing synth and he is always tweaking knobs on what looks to be like a guitar stompbox pedal. what is the stomp box that you see on top of a lot of keyboardists' synths. Is it a compressor?

Could I add an external D/A like the PreSonus central station to a 003 rack and use the A/D of the 003?

I recently purchased a desktop from ADK, and while I am happy with it for the most part, I am having some serious problems with basic stuff. I'm hardly even using any of the comp's power and when doing simple things like opening a plugin or saving or even when I open a project, my DAW freezes and doesn't respond, which usually results in a force quit.
