Please Tell Me What I Need For My iMac

Ok, I want to be able to record professional sounding vocals to lay over instrumental tracks. I have an iMac running on Snow Leopard. I have an Audio-Technica AT3060 Tube Condenser Microphone. I'm not really needing help on the software I need but more like the hardware. Sorry this might not be placed in the right part of the forum. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

And of course there are lots of audio (AIFF/WAV) loops CDs.

But are there any any piano / organ / clavinet MIDI loop collections out on the market?

Ultimate Pot Value Comparison

The debate between using standard 500k pots vs using higher value 1M pots has been raging... (yes it has, shut up) and I intend to shed some light on the situation. I swapped my pots this morning, but before I did I took DI's. After I put the 500k's in I made more DI's and then reamped all of them. Let me know what you hear, what you like, and why.

Pre-amp for live orchestral recording?

I am recording a symphony orchestra in our next concert. I currently only have a stereo microphone (Audio-Technica 4047) and portable field recorder (Tascam DR100). It's been suggested the item that would help boost the quality the most would be a good pre-amp. Can I get some guidance on what is best for live orchestras - so warm and precise is what I'm looking for.
