Whats good brands cheaper in the UK market ? (vs. US)
Forums
I had a friend traveling to the US and now he is in Europe, unfortunately he missed and opportunity to go score some gear for me in the US, he would be hitting London soon. He can afford bout a 1000 USD for me. A Great River pre I was looking for in the US, or the AGK 414XLS (in India its all a lot more expensive than the American market, the very little we get).

USB powered interfaces with (no wall warts)
Forums
I need something for remote recording where I dont have access to many power outlets. Id like something where I can do some decent recording.. USB interfaces dont have a ton of options when it comes to self powered. Something like the EMU 0404 is NOT bus powered.
Any suggestions, something that has phantom power, a decent pre, and a decent headphone amp?

How to get audiophile sound quality with durability?
Forums
For a long time I used a pair of Pro Energy 22 speakers in my studio because the sound quality was neutral but outstanding. Well, all it took was one instance of mic feedback to blow out the tweeters. Which has me thinking now. . .how to I get studio monitors that are durable but also have the sound quality of a fine home audio speaker? Does such a thing exist?

First paid recording gig...
Forums
My wife accompanies (on piano) a local violin teacher and her students and in return gets free violin lessons for our 2 daughters. Every year a small handful of her older high school students make recordings of themselves for college applications, scholarship applications, etc. We decided we'd put together a home recording studio and offer to make recordings for the students.
