I'm trying to record multiple tracks (guitar, vocals) at different times and mix them together using Audacity.

There seems to be a time delay in the recordings somewhere between the mic, the mixer, and my computer, and I have a feeling it is the computer. This delay is making recordings difficult to line up in time together.

To my problem, i bought a MXl 990 and a Blue icicle

This is how its setup

Mxl 990 condenser mic > XLR cable > Blue icicle > USb wire > Pc ( windows 7 )

I checked everywhere and it says icicle is a plug and play device, so why am i having problem ?

Getting guitars up front.

I've recorded guitars directly into logic, and I'm looking to get them up front in the mix. My thought was have to have the distorted guitars really dry and panned wide in the mix, but have the volumes low, that way I could really turn up the vocals in the mix.

My son signed a record contract in the Philippines without me. the record company shevled him because he would be competing with another artist they already invested in. he is only 17 years old. is it legal to void this contract because he is a minor? is the contract enforcable if he is only 17. I have read different opinions and everything says he should be able to change his mind.

My band and I have been looking for a name for long but every cool thing we think of seems to belong to a band somewhere on earth.

Our original name "Divine" which I really want to keeps seems to be used by a couple of bands... but so does everything else we think of.

I've been putting of artwork, logo and website for long because of this.

I have some issues with some snare tracks I recently recorded and would like to hear your opinions and suggestions for processing them during mixdown. This is one of the first bands I ever recorded, so don't be too harsh with me.

Ive just recently been offered a production contract and I would like to move forward with it. They've handed me a pretty general contract and want me to add or change what i want on it. Ive been looking up a lot on whats standard as far as dividing money goes but I'm still not sure how to deal with my particular situation. The deal is with 2 other performers and myself.

what compressor(s) would you pair with the API for tracking? the considerations are:
1) $1000 or under (no choice!)
2) at least 2 channels
