Help with recording setup

Hey guys,,,

So I have a question. We as a group are out of funds. We have all of our normal equipment, amps, guitars, drums. We recently bought a recording interface, mics, and setup a drone pc for just audio recording.

I have now been told that we should not connect the amps to the outputs of the recording interface, that it is possible to burn out the amps.

noisy AKG c214 - may be counterfeit?

I upgraded from an AT2020 to AKG c214, i am currently running a Lexicon alpha into my laptop and adobe audition 1.5, after connecting the AKG the sound is a lot lower with the Lexicon setting untouched and the white noise is a lot higher than i expected, so i need to turn the mic volume louder than i had it with the AT2020, which also increases the white noise.

Best platform for huge samplers?

I recently bought EW/QL Goliath, and pianos. Both pretty much require that I use 192Khz, if I want to hear the recording as I play it. Cubase tops out at 96khz, and to boot won't let me adjust the sample size. Anywho, anyone else using these huge samples, and plays the keyboard well enough for the latency to really bother them? What did you do?

Bus Powered Inferfaces - Duet, Konnekt 24d, FireStudio Mobile

I'm shopping around for a bus powered 2-channel firewire audio interface for my MacBook Pro. I currently own a M-Audio Delta 1010 that I'm very happy with. I've read everything I could find about the following 3 interfaces which I believe to be in my price range and offer what I'm looking for.
