I currently have an Mbox 2 Mini and M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 monitors(awful, I use headphones instead of them) and I run Pro Tools LE 8. I just graduated with a degree in audio recording so it's time I upgrade my set up.

My father is looking for a good USB or Firewire Mixer Audio Interface and a good set of speakers for his keyboard. He will probably be using it as a home studio but also for live playing.

This question is probably going to make me sound like a noob, but what type of harmonies is T-pain using in this song? There's just so many different harmonies going on. I can't pick them out and I don't have much experience with it. If that question doesn't make sense, then basically, how do I harmonize like t-pain in that song? What scales/chords/ whatever is he using?

I'm new here and I've been thinking about recording for fun when I have free time. I want to fill some songs out with the same sounds the Keith Urban has in the beggining of: "Somebody Like You" or "Raining on Sunday." Not sure if anybody has heard them, but I can't indentify the sound that both of the songs beggin with. Thanks, great website btw.

Just looking for some advice on must have gear that I could add to my amateur studio.

I have a small home studio and I recently purchased an MOTU 828 as my recording interface. This is the USB2 version of the interface and should really be a great addition to my set up but I cannot get it to work properly.

Does anyone know of any known issues with this interface?

Hey everyone. I'm getting ready to download the Cubase 5 trial version, and to operate it I'm going to have to update my usb dongle with the newest licence. Does anyone know if I'll still be able to operate sx2 with that same dongle once it's been updated?

Trying to hook my amp up to my computer, I take the DI output of the Amp and plug that in to my line-in jack on my computer right? Here is the link the the manual if you would like to see the back panel it is on page 9.
