I have a mic that I use with my computer, but it's a really little, cheap one, and there's loads of background noise. I can cancel some of the background noise using Audacity, but it's never good enough, and the audio quality isn't great to begin with.

So, I'm wondering... is this because of the sound card, or the mic?

I have a problem where when i record on my computer I get a white noise. I get fine sounding recordings of whatever i recorded but i also hear the white noise

I have roughly $10,000 to spend on gear. I'm aiming for a setup that will connect with my firewire equipped Mac Book Pro. I'm looking to have a great setup for recording vocals/guitars/pretty much everything except drums. IE I don't need that many preamps, 2 at a minimum.

Or allen and heath zed r16/ macbook pro 4gig sonar/ external HD 7200rpm

Have been advised to go for the MOTU set up for quality and ease of set up?

Hi all...getting buzz in speakers. Really annoying and I have tried unplugging everything one peiece of equipmentr at a time/rerouting cables. etc.

Is there a really decent product that effectively reduces ground loops and/or filters the line?
