Focusrites Liquid Mix vs Logic 9
Forums
Hello, inexperienced noobs here :)
OK so we have sort a a simple set up right now. While we have a tone of vintage and classic guitar, bass gear that you would drool over, the recording set up is RME Fireface 800 connected to a MAc Pro that has been responsible of putting all of our recording into Logic (9 at this point).

A good DAW (Mac)
Forums
Ive been looking at buying a mac for my DAW needs. For the past year ive been using Cakewalk Sonar 8 but ive found love for logic. I have narrowed it down to a Mac book Pro But have concerns with the screen size, at only 15" it seems a bit on the small size.
Being a student i cant afford the 17" and dont particually want to get a an iMAC.

Static with Firebox on new Dell XPS Studio 435 MT
Forums
I was recording on a 2.6ghz PIV computer with a PCI firewire card and a PreSonus Firebox. It worked fine but the CPU was often overtaxed and gave me some clicks or pops. I just "upgraded" to a much more powerful computer. I ditched the whole hard drive with Vista installed, installed a new hard drive and put Windows XP on it. I'll try to arrange some sort of dual boot thing later on.

Hi, this book was recommended to me. I noticed it's 20-22 years old. I was able to view the Table of Contents on Amazon and even read a few pages - seems like the material would not date much. However I was wondering if there's something just as comprehensive plus information on how it relates to modern equipment?

hi there, i'm new here and i have a question that i hope you can answer for me. let me first make it clear that i am no technician or sound expert; i'm an old, but fairly naive amateur musician/writer and i have little to no patience for the complex sciences of harmonics and microphone placement. i will hopefully learn more on these matters one day, but it isn't what concerns me now.

Which Cab!
Forums
Here is an interesting situation. For the past few weeks I had been looking at an Avatar 2x12 with one Vintage 30 and one G12T-75. This would come out to about $450-475 with shipping. Last night a friend said he is letting go of his 5150 4x12 because he is getting a new cab. The 5150 has Sheffield speakers and according to him it is better than the Avatar for heavier stuff.

Help With Speaker Cab For Tube Head
Forums
Alright, I currently have a Crate Blue Voodoo 60w Tube Head with brand new Ruby 12ax7 and Tungsol 6L6 Tubes. I use it for mostly rock, a little heavier rock, and enjoy some bluesy sounds from time to time. The cabinet i use is a vintage Carvin V412. The speakers are old and probaby not THAT great.
