When attempting to track into Reaper with an SM57 through an Echo AudioFire4 interface, anything I play is completely distorted and fuzzy.

The levels during recording look fine.

This seems to happen only when the device is set to ASIO. When it's set to WaveOut, I don't have the problem.

I have all the latest drivers installed.

Any ideas?

I am a professional clarinetist who has dabbled at various times with recording. I am now looking to put together a home recording kit for a project involving overdubbing myself. Equpiment on hand currently is a Mackie 1202 mixer (original version) along with a pair of Shure BG 4.0 mics.

I have Superior Drummer 2.0 with the Metal Foundry expansion. I am not sure what program yet to start recording with. But first I would like to build a computer before I do anything.

Hi, I am considering to get floor monitors for practice space to have a full mix in them (except for drums) How powerful do they need to be?
We have full stacks with VHT tube power amps for guitars and ampeg 810 for bass. We run vocals through Peavey Black widow 15" speakers with 1400w Power amp bridged to mono working at a full power.

Well, I have a Firebox and had a small problem getting it to run as my default audio device in Vista 64. I have a dual boot PC with Vista 64 on one drive and XP 32 bit on the other. I record to Cubase SX3 on the XP drive, but figured I'd use the Firebox for sound on both channels, so I can use my monitors to listen to music, etc.

What should I get?
I want to record better, professional quality vocals.

Right now I am using a Line 6 UX1 Interface and a Samson USB CO1U condenser mic.

It is pretty bad quality mic. But I am running straight through my USB with no sound card. Just using sound processor on me motherboard.

I've been using digirack 002 through firewire 400 for years and been working fine on macbook pros but being a mac buff, I'm going to want a newer macbook pro eventually, which means no firewire 400. Definitely not the only one with this problem. But at the same time, I'm getting sick of digidesign's core audio problems and updating indifference.

Hi Folks...Was wondering if anyone can suggest a decent Headphone amp. Preferably at least 6 channel.

I was checking out the ART HeadAmp6Pro and was wondering if anyone has had any experience using this? If so, is it a noisy unit or is there something better in the same range? I would prefer rack mount. Its always nice to see the toys lined up in one area. lol...

i have no sound on Cubase 3 with my fatar SL 880 no matter what i do, (monitor,record). I'm kinda newbie in midi config. so what i did was inserting a cable into 1 of two outputs from my kb and on the other side plugged into IN . I don't find my kb in midi device manager list. I own an Delta 1010 LT
suggestions pls !
