Tracking Down a Hideous Squeal
Forums
SM57, six inches from and slightly below the bridge, pointed up at the soundhole of my friend's very nice sounding Larrivee. I noticed that taking a little out of the 1-2kHz range improved the track quite a bit.

Fixing stripped guitar bridge screw holes
Forums
A guitar that I am working on won't stay together XO. The screws that hold the faceplate/bridge down aren't doing their job because they have apparently been removed several times and the threads are completely worn down. I looked into wood filler and actually purchased some, but I'm thinking buying longer screws might be an easier fix. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Decent guitar tuner
Forums
Need a tuner to a. tune guitar and b. perform intonation checks with. It MUST be able to do alternate tunings, preferably chromatic. It must also have line level input, I'm not a fan of the 'singing tuner'. It must also be accurate enough to accurately set intonation for clients. I'm open to handheld tuners as well as stompbox tuners.

Wiring a three pickup strat with 5 position switch
Forums
I'm doing a setup on a friend's guitar and two of his three pickups don't have any sound, the bridge is the only one that works. I opened it up and the inside looks like somebody tampered with it. They don't even look soldered. I can solder but is there a schematic that I can follow?
Mixer for recording a Podcast
Forums
Ok, well I'm sort of a newbie. Basically, I'm looking to record 1 - 4 condenser mics simultaniously into Audacity or audition. I'm looking to be able to control each input independently as well as hook up head phones to accompany each mic.
Questions:
What kind of mixer should I get? I would like digital and usb connectivity

Splitting a stereo track into two mono tracks?
Forums
Hello:
I am doing some recording with a 4 track handheld recorder (Zoom H4n). It creates two stereo wav files (Mic L-R and Instrument L-R). Once I import the files into two stereo tracks in Cubase 4, I would like to split the stereo files into 4 separate tracks.
Is there an easy way of doing this? Thanks!

Trying to find the perfect Interface.
Forums
Hey I've been "eye" shopping through some interfaces but I never really used one yet. I have heard from people that some of the following interfaces are good but I just don't know which one to get. I'm looking for one that will give the best quality on a Vista 32-bit laptop or a desktop xp pro w/ firewire.

Electrical Grounding Issues?
Forums
The amp I just got secondhand off my friend (actually third hand because he got it from his friend...) has a bit of a problem in the grounding dept. One of the first things I noticed was that the plug didn't have a ground on it. It did, but it was torn off/broken.
