Anybody own one? What are your thoughts? Applications?

This question is mainly focused on Sony Sound Forge, but if you know of another program that has a similar feature that's fine too. I'm looking for a program that will remove gaps of silence in an audio file. There are plenty of programs that have this so-called "auto trim" feature, but usually it's restricted to removing silence at the beginning or end of an audio file.

Hello Everyone, I am totally green at this so I need advice getting started. I want to take Karaoke recordings and be able to ad my voice for lead and back-up vocals and take all of this and record on a CD. Where do I start? I really appreciate any advice given. Thank you! Ted

I'm looking to create a little home studio, and 'm looking for a recording interface for my laptop. I'm using vista 32, and don't have firewire.

I'm only recording vocals, and guitars, so I would only need 2 channels. What is the best solution for this?

I keep getting the error 'disc too slow or system overload'

I am recording a guitar combo jacked to the max and the recording keeps stopping with the same error. Could I be overloading the interface?

I've been recording music for a while now usually just using one mic and whatever mixer i can borrow. Now i'm looking at an upgrade.

I have been recording for the past 6 months using my Audiophile 24/96 and it has been great. I am looking to upgrade to a lager audio interface that has 8 XLR inputs that way I can record all my drum Mics on separate tracks. Of course I am a college student with little income. I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent interface that is affordable.
