Hi there guys, i really need some help, this is my first attempt at going fully digital, my previous setup was anoolog outs from my 2 Mackie onyx 800r units into delta 1010 pci soundcards. i have now bought a M-audio Profire Lightbridge and need help syncing everything as i am pretty new to all this.

2 questions:

1. How can I route an audio track through a software synthesizer in Logic so that I can manipulate a voice, in real time, using oscillators and different filters?

2. How would I route a voice out from logic, into a MOTU 8pre, and then send a digital signal to an external synth for manipulation?

Hi, I just bought the pro fire 610 M audio, and the sm 57, I just plugged it to the audio interface and when I turn the level up, I start hearing a hiss. Why is this? Is this a problem because the room is not treated acoustically? or is it a problem with the microphone or audio interface?

Forgive my ignorance. I'm used to my old Pro Tools hardware and learning new things with PC's.

What ever AD/DA converter I go with, like Apogee, CRane Song, Larvy, RME etc, do I need a sound card still installed in the PC ( windows XP tower)? or, do the higher end converters, or one in particular replace the need of the sound card?

can someone please tell me a good description of what a compressor does? mainly for guitar and drums

Hey guys!
I just got mine in this evening. So far, I'm INCREDIBLY impressed! It's a damn sexy box both visually and aurally! After only about an hour I've gotten 2 different projects to sound fantastic with this box and just a little fiddling!

I'll try to post samples soon of before and afters.

I'm really looking forward to playing with this box more.

I am looking for groove samples. Mostly looking for rhythmic grooves to accent drums. I don't care about piano grooves, or bass, or horns or anything like that. Anyone know of any good ones?
