Purchasing New Equipment - Need Advice/Suggestions

So I'm about to make a purchase, but I don't have enough to do everything at once. So I'd like to know what purchase I should make first that would give me the most improvement up front. I kinda know the answer but I guess I am looking for a confirmation.

I have the option to purchase the 003 Factory (upgrading from the 001), I would still use the preamps from my mackie.

Live Band Recording

Hi,

I am new to live sound recording. Now I am going to have a project which is a live recording session of Lead vocal with acoustic guitar and KB, Bass guitar and percussion on the side doing background vocals. I am concerning about the wiring issue: It contains Millennia HV-3D,Focusrite ISA430 MkII, an analog Studer mixer and a few mics in my gear list, so how do I get started?

Behringer PMP3000 killing phantom powered condensers?

I'd love any insight or thoughts anyone could drum up here on this subject.

My band just grabbed a Behringer PMP3000 (1200W peak powered mixer - I know most Behringer gear is weak, just needed something to get by) for a little more vocal punch and the ability to play some medium sized venues that don't have a house PA.

Questions regarding re-amping

I was interested in a recording tip that I heard about recently, that being using a DI as well as an amp for recording guitarists. You then would end up with two tracks. Thus giving youi the ability to reamp the DI track if the sound of the amped track is not exactly what you were looking for but the performance was. I am using PreSonus Firestudio as my A/D converter.
