I placed my order. did I make the right decision?

Hey, I have been doing a quite a bit of research on a home studio vocal setup. My voice is medium-deep in tone and pretty aggressive, kind of a mix between dre and tech n9ne --anyways, kind of unusual. I am currently using a setup over at my buddies. Blue Baby bottle condenser mic going through a Focusrite Platinum pre and mixed in Nuendo.

Cheap cassette deck for playback

I have a box of old cassette tapes (remember those?) that I want to get onto my PC. Nothing valuable or well-recorded, just some nostalgia from garage band days. I just gave away my old dual cassette deck which was broken (freecycle.org is great!), so now I am casually looking around for a new playback deck (don't need to record onto it). Any suggestions/recommendations under say $100?

midi controller problem- touch sensitivity is backwards

if i lightly touch a key it plays the sample back at full volume. if i hit the key hard it can barely be heard. what is this all about? i checked the setting on the controller (fatar no internal sounds) it has worked fine for years and all of the sudden this happens.

thanks

Recording Orchestras

Recording Orchestras So after some hard thought, I think this is something I am going to aI'm to get into.
I may be able to get my foot in the door at CBC studios in Toronto, but I also would like to freelance.
I figure I should be able to find a few choirs or orchestras around the city that need archival work done.
so this leads me to the equipment I will be needing.
