me and my friend wanna start a lil studio for recording music..mainly hip hop
right now i have a recording booth(with foam) a mbox2 mini. Pro Tools, and a samson co3

we wanna get better quailty so we need some opionons on what we should get

i'm lookin to get a MIDI controller, to learn to play and record with. i'm going for cheap here, but something that's reliable. i'll prob start out using it to add a little something to my music, and then eventually learn to actually play.

i am recording with MOTU 896 HD's at 24/192, and i want my cousin on the other side of the world to do bass line, we will trade hard drives

question: all tracks on my end- guitar,vocals etc- will be recorded at
24/192, but my cousin can only record the bass at 24/96 as he has older converters

can we do this? we are both using digital performer 5.0

Hello all. I hope this question belongs in this forum. I was recording a CD at my house. At the time i only had a 12 track. So after the 12 traxx were filled, i took the session to another friends house and dumped it onto his computer,a mac. I was paying him to finish the recording as it got done. Needless to say the CD never got finished.

Looking for info on how to import 20 files, and Batch edit to trim time to say 2:37, and have them auto save in another directory batch renamed such as Filename_2.37

Im stumped. Yes, its an ongoing thing, and would love a batch setup for this, rather than having to manually edit everything.

I'm upgrading my studio. Have a M-Audio Firewire 410 interface that's been giving me all sorts of trouble (software interface is buggy, drops out and comes back garbled, etc.).

Been looking hard at the PreSonus Firestudio (8 XLR Pres, 26x26 total with the optical I/O - never used the optical I/O on the 410, but need to experiment with that...need cables yet).

No good deed goes unpunished.
