mastering setup Neve portico

I was wondering the Neve porticos eq will make good eq for mastering. I just bought a Portico setup, including 2 eq and a tape driver and u can bus them all together. Im only miising the compressor. I was also wondering if the Portico compressor will do the trick or it will be better to get a multiband compressor? Thanku

Joemeek twinQ or seperate eq and compressor

ill be buying a firestudio project soon, and i was planning on getting a dual eq and dual compressor for the inserts on ch 1 and 2 on the firestudio. i was thinking of a preamp aswell just to give some different sounds from the preamps in the firestudio, so i looked up some Joemeek stuff. they have a dual compressor and dual eq all in one, i think it could be a preamp too.

I Want To Record Cheap W/my Laptop

ok so i just got a dell laptop recently and would like a temporary way of recording. mostly just acoustic solo stuff, guitar and vocals (if i could do more, great). what is the cheapest way i can get some decent recordings just using my laptop and some software? and whats the best way to go about mics this way (i have one 1/8" mic input and a sm57+mxl 990)

any advice is great

Opinions On My Intended Setup

to start off, i used to have a decent little set up, but i moved from ohio to florida and i needed money at the time so i sold my Behringer mx9000 and Mackie sdr 2496, along with a Shure pg series drum mic kit.

anyways, i plan on getting back into recording sometime later this year once the finances clear. heres what I'm thinking about going with
