1/4" Tape
Hey Guys,
Whose 1/4" tape is the best product on the market for mixdown? (Cost is not an issue).
And. . do you prefer studio quality or master quality?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Sincerely,
Rod

Is there any way? 1/4" --> MIDI
Hi all,
I have gotten my hands on a few of the soft synths and sotfware drum modules, and I have since sold all of my outboard MIDI gear.

NEED slender 1/4" plugs!
I have a (don't laugh) ROLLS 8ch line mixer which I use for my various synths - into my soundcard. For the price, it's well built and very quiet...plus one sends in/out.
The problem is I like to make my own cables. But the 1/4" mono jacks on this unit are too close together for me to use my fav. Neutrik plugs (NP2C). they crowd eachother, and will not fit.

Soundcard 1/4" outs to consumer stereo speakers?
I have some nice Grado headphones for monitoring, but becuase much of my voice-over work will now end up being distributed as streaming Flash audio, I'd like to listen to the mix on cheap consumer desktop computer speakers as well -- the kind of thing that comes bundled with a PC or that you'd pick up at Circuit City or Costco -- that's what most of my audience will have.
question about converting from 96 -> 44.1/48
i am having a bit of a small dilemma and i need some advice. i have recorded some songs on my computer using a MOTU 828mkII and Logic Express. most of the songs have been recorded in 96 and i am wondering how to convert the whole song and not just individual files down to 44.1 or 48.
Is it safe to leave cables (XLR, 1/4TRS) plugged in your gear?
Is it safe to leave cables (XLR, 1/4TRS) plugged in your gear? At the end of every studio session, do you guys disconnect all the wires?
Help with 1/4" Machine - 1 bad channel, newbie...
Hello!
I'm just about as new to this forum as I am to this machine, an otari MX-5050 BQII 1/4" 4-track, and to analog reel-to-reels in general. My only other experience with this stuff is on an MTR-90 2" 24-track that required minimal calibration to sound amazing.
Cables & 1/4 in. Stereo Jacks
How many folks solder their own cables? I do some soldering at work which gives me a little advantage and plan to reconstruct my studios' entire wiring. I'd like to get some insight from a few "Pros" because I'm new to using a patchbay. Actually, I think I need a couple of patchbays for that matter.
