Acoustic Guitar(x-y and over the shoulder Micing technique)
Has anyone tried doing an X-Y configuration in front and an over the shoulder mic on acoustic guitar?
I know its common to use the X-Y and I know some people use the over the should and one mic in front but has anyone used this combination with good results? Im just curios.
I have a session thursday and I'm thinking about trying this.

Realistic Acoustic Guitar
Great forum - spent a long while lurking and learning a lot. Especially how to spend a lot of money on top class audio recording software. I'll stick with Cubase in the interim, thanks  Anyway, to my question:

Recommended outboard EQ for acoustic guitar
All.
Are there any outboard EQs that are recommended specifically for acoustic guitar? I'd need two channels (stereo or twin mono).
I already have the pres I need so am looking for EQ only.
LMK.

stereo acoustic guitar
I have a question regarding getting a stereo acoustic guitar track out with one mic. Up until now i've been doing most acoustic guitar direct in with no real problems, other than a thin sound. What I ususally do is duplicate the track bump the new track up a couple ms and hard pan left and right.

recommend a good acoustic guitar and vocal mic
I just got a G5 mac with Pro Tools and the Mbox. I do acoustic recordings alone. Guitar, Vocals, and a little acoustic percussion/shakers. So it's pretty simple. but I'm wondering where to go from here. can anyone recommend a good acoustic/vocal mic? I read the monitor post and I know I should get some soon as I'm using headphones.
EQing Acoustic guitars
I recorded acoustic guitars for a song that had just guitars and vocals. A very nice simple melody. In stereo, AB spaced pair. (one at the bridge, anled a little down, the other at bout the 10th fret)

Acoustic Guitar Mic - $500 - $800?
I've been reading and doing research, but still can't decide on what acoustic guitar mic to get with a budget of $500 - $800.
What is the most precise mic in this range that will make you feel like you are almost in the room with the guitar?
Has anyone heard anything about Schoeps mics? If so, please elaborate on experience.

Reccomended Plugins for Voice and acoustic guitar
My next stage in upgrading my DAW system is to purchase some plugins. I plan mainly to record vocals and acoustic guitar. I'm not lookin' for anything fancy - a nice natural reverb / delay, a compressor and EQ.
I've thought about TC Powercore, UAD1 and a Wavesbundle.
Can anyone give me their opinion?
Cheers!
