Mixing Advice for Acoustic Track
I'm new with recording and mixing and stuff. I have a short (40 second) song that I did my best on, but I'm wondering if you guys have any helpful mixing criticism for me.

Mom needs advice in buying college son drum recording system
HI I am shopping without a clue for christmas gift for my son who wants to be able to record his paying the drums- home by no means a professional studio. Can someone please guide me as to what is neededm without having to mortgage my house, yet not buying garbage either. Any advice is greatly appreciated. He is starting from zero equipment at this point!
setting up DAW based home recording studio, need advice!
--
Hello,
I am trying to set up a home studio and have some questions. Like many novices, I went into Guitar Center with a little bit of knowledge and made purchases based on their suggestions and my budget. Now, I am trying to figure out if I really have the equipment I need for my purposes and if I need to buy a new computer, etc.
Need Advice on which road to take.
So from a recent project I came to the conclusion that my recording front end is a bit weak gain wise. I am using the PreSonus FireBox which is a two channel device. This means that I either have to buy a two channel preamp with lots of gain to boost the signal before it hits the converter or save up for an upgrade converter. I could also build a preamp though, if it isn't terribly hard.

I'm ready to go broke and spend every penny I have on a new recording setup! I'm a beginner but I want to buy the best rig possible. .not interested in a beginner setup! I don't want to have to buy a new rig a year or two from now...I'd rather get great gear from the start..but I don't know what I'm doing so any and all input is encouraged and appreciated!

General Advice On Mixing Metal In Logic 8
Hey,
Only just joined this forum and already found some of the threads very handy, but need a bit of extra advice on some mixing in Logic 8.
I run full Logic 8 on a Powermac G5, using Toontrack Superior 2.0 (The Metal Foundry SDX) for drums.
Have recorded all guitars with a close-mic'd SM57 (top right cone of Orange cab) and placed an SE2200A about 6ft away.

Basic newb questions, please give advice.
Hello all, I'm a drummer, in a technical/death metal band, looking for a way to record. I don't know much of anything about recording, but I would like to learn more about recording and for our band to get our own recording gear.
