Newbie Needs Advice, PLEASE!

Thanks for checkin this out! I need some advice on setting up my home audio workstation. My band consists of my cousin (piano) and myself (bass). We use a drum machine for our drummer. For the last 2 years, we have been recording on a Zoom MRS 802b 8 track recorder. Well, to make a long story short, the recorder died on us.

Noob needing some advice to get straight!

Hi,
I have modest means and modest goals: to record songs that I use for musical theatre shows that I write. Keyboard based, plus vocals. I have WinXP with a SBLive! card (with breakout) - which I *may* replace. Also a small mixer (Xenyx 802), FCA202 interface, PC300 controller and Nanopiano, C1 condenser mic, SM58 mic, Cubase s/w.

Looking for advice on purchasing an audio interface?

Hey everyone,

I am extremely new to recording and looking for as much help as I can. I just bought two microphones in a package known as the AT2041 by Audio-Technica. This package included the AT2020 and the AT2021. Today, I learned that both these microphones require phantom power.

Immediate advice needed on effects of all instrument quantising in song editing!

While recording our first demo my band have hit a difficult point, our sound engineer (who normally just mixes dance tunes) thinks it would be best if we quantise everything in our tracks, drums, bass, guitar and keyboard but we play indy/rock and are worried that this will give our songs, which also have a slight funk feel, a very dance tune or chart pop feel and take away the natural groove o
