Best Amp Software or Preamp?

I own Guitar Rig 3 and Amplitube. Not satisfied with any of the sounds. Ive also built a dummy load box so i can run a line from my Orange heads into a 4x12 simulator and then into my interface for silent recording... And still not happy haha.

So.. Is there any other programs or Preamps you guys would suggest? Ive looked at the ENGL and Mesa Recording preamps.

Affordable High Quality Amp and Mic

Forums

I need an affordable (-$900) amp. I love the sound of James Hetfield's guitar in Death Magnetic. I play mostly Metal and some Modern Rock. I've been looking at the Mesa/Boogie amps, but they're just too expensive (maybe sometime down the road.. haha). I don't really have a minimum watt limit, as long as it's not under 30-watts.

Getting the Most Out of An Amp In A Bad Recording Space

My room is about 11x12 and untreated. I'm looking for rules of thumb or something of the sort. Like amp placement, should it face a corner or wall or something. Should I have the amp shoot into the closet? Right now I have it facing the center of the room and I feel that this is not the way to go about things. My tracks don't sound horrible, but they don't sound how I want them to either.

Guitar amp cabinet question

I'd like suggestions for a guitar amp extension speaker cabinet that I could use to isolate my Matchless Hurricane (15 amp) or Fender Blues Jr. (after adding a speaker out jack). I'd be using it for jazz, folk, county, and blues right now. This would be used primarily for recording so I'd like it to be a single speaker and either have no grille cloth or a removable grille.

Power amp for Peavey Sp2

We just got 2 peavey sp2. And for now we use my Tapco J1400 power amp. This is my bass back up amp. And it is not that loud. What amp would you suggest for these speakers.

Sp2s:
RMS 500watts
Program 1000 wats
Peak 2000

P.S. We are thinking about adding 2 subs and an amp to run them may be next year and use it to run our own shows.

Need Help Hooking My 60's Fender amp Directly To My Mac

But now I'm working on a new song. what I'm trying to do is plug my 1960's fender amp into my mac so i can get the same distorted sound that the amp produces. the amp has a plugin the back for EXT.
