Micing an electric guitar amp using an SM58

Ok, so, I'm attempting to record some guitar tracks onto a Zoom H4 4 track recorder. The recorder has 2 mic inputs. I have 1, possibly 2 sm58s available to me, and I just took the capsule off the mic, and placed it on an angle facing the amp. The recorder also has 2 built in condenser mic's in an XY pattern, if that would be better.

Guitar Amp Speaker

Hey, this isn't exactly a recording question but how do you go about changing a blown speaker from an amp? I have an old Carvin amp and I wanted to put an Eminence speaker in there. The amp says 100 Watts on it, but I dont know if thats RMS or Peak, and even if I knew, Im not sure what the rules are. Will a 75W RMS, 150W Peak speaker work on this? Thanks.

monitor amp... Bryston amp 2B or not 2B

OK, I'm finally in the market for a new monitor amp... or should I say, I'm in the market for a Bryston

Control room is 14'-9" x 21'-6" and the volume should be right at 3000 sq. ft.

Current monitors are University 12" dual concentrics, but could change any time to something else. Monitors will be soffit mounted.

Soooo, 4B, 3B, 2B, doo bee doo bee doo?
