Audio Interface w/ quality preamps ?
Hi everyone,
First post here. I'm slowly getting back into the home recording arena after a hiatus.
I'm very intrigued by Pro Tools 9 and its ability to handle other audio interfaces. I used to record on a Digi001 but that's been on the shelf now for a few years. That being said, I'm also looking at other DAW's (reaper, logic, etc.).

Audio interface issues I have had...
I struggled for a couple of months with my new DAW system, and I thought that the USB Fast Track Ultra interface I was using was causing me trouble.

I'm looking for something that is reliable and stable operating alongside Windows 7 64bit.

How much crap can I plug into a 2 input Audio Interface?
Hey all! First post on here, so I hope it's not an overly dumb one.
I've got an EMU 404 USB audio interface, and it's got 2 audio inputs on it. I'm looking in to Micing my drum set to do some recording, and I was wondering if I could use a multi-channel mixer BEFORE the audio interface so I could run more mics.
Lower than expected line levels from my audio interface.
I was unsure of where to post this question, because it could have fallen in a few different categories. In any event, I have a new Saffire USB 6 audio interface. It sounds very good, but it is significantly quieter than other equipment. I have it hooked up to my Carver preamp, and from there into my Bryston 2B. The computer is the source for the Saffire.
All Focusrite Saffire line Audio interface users- A question for you.
All Focusrite Saffire audio interfaces come with a plugin VST package that includes reverb compression, EQ, etc. I am curious to hear from any users as to whether they are respectable in use, and how well they stand up against other such VST plugins, particularly the reverb.
Looking for advice on purchasing an audio interface?
Hey everyone,
I am extremely new to recording and looking for as much help as I can. I just bought two microphones in a package known as the AT2041 by Audio-Technica. This package included the AT2020 and the AT2021. Today, I learned that both these microphones require phantom power.
The myth of mobile recording with Firewire audio interfaces
Why is it that many manufacturers of firewire audio interfaces advertize that they are bus powered and thus good for field recording, when virtually no notebooks come with 6 pin firewire connects? I think except for a Mac or two, virtually all pc's are 4 pin, and I am almost certain that they must be 6 pin to provide power.
Help understanding audio interface
Im a bit confused about audio interfaces. If you get a mixer without firewire, usb does that mean it doesnt have a interface? and how do pick the right one for your mixer?
