I have a mix done by a group i recorded yesterday, and quite frankly the bass is very out of place and sounds much to low, and there is no articulation in it at all.

How?

I've been trying to get a good sound out of a kick drum that didn't have a hole in the front skin. The drum was well tuned and sound okay in the studio, altough there was a lot of ringing in it. Anyway, here's the setup i've had...

I just finished a CD for a band. Every one in the group loved it except the bass player. The bass is right where it needs to be. The mix is great yet he wants more volume on the bass. He wants to hear every single note as if it were a solo track. The bass is clear and punchy, what should I tell the guy? Should I screw up the mix just to make a deaf guy happy? Do you get this crap often?

Is there a rule of thumb when mixing kick drums and bass together in a track?

Because since both usually occupy the low frequencies...
Should they both be seperated?

I am looking for something that can give me that 808 sound with heavy bass lines, any suggestions?

I want to record bass thru DI and mic the cab as well at same time. What DI/Audio box would accept both signals... I dont care about eating up 2 seperate tracks...

Is there anyone who knows where I can find samples like Doublebass (upright bass) with slapsound. I prefere nki-files because I work with NI-kontakt softwaresampler.

I work with TRILOGY Total Bass Module from spectrasonics and it's quite alright but I can't create any acoustic slapsound in this trilogy module.

Is there anybody who can help me with my problem.

Okay heres the deal... i have $800 to spend, i'm running pro tools le 5.3.1 and i need quality, customizable drum samples and sounds with DEEP bass. Is there a synthesizer out there within this price range with these qualities? Right now all i have is a classic casio 530... i need to uprgade.

I'm using a Tascam US-122 with an old Ibanez bass. I've been running the bass through a Hughes and Kettner Tubeman 2 preamp and then into my US-122. I realize that the gear is waaaay cheap, but is there anything that I can do to give the bass a thicker tone (the cheapest way possible)?
