I just got the new BASS PODXT PRO and am VERY impressed. WOW! this thing has ended my search for the killer bass sound. I'm running it through one of my Avalon u5's and straight into an HDR. it's almost toooo easy to get that"sought after tone placement!. anybody else have anything good to say about it

ok, this is a subjective thing I know, but I cant seem to get a "good" bass sound like I hear on pro recordings ( & demos).

Hi. Let me preface this by saying, although I consider myself a decent musician, I am pretty new and very green to recording. I find my problems to always be with mixing.

there's always a raging discussion about mic preamps and which ones are the "best",etc. - but that's usually from the point of the cleanest or purest "warm" sound, and usually for voice work.

but what about when you need a preamp for mics that are going to be on a bass cabinet or a guitar cabinet?

Ive seen that in many pro studios the engineer removes the fron bass drum head of the kick drum and puts a second kick drum and drapes it with a heavy blankets and puts a second mic in front of the 2nd kick. I wanted to know two things...

Hello everyone, I'm kinda new here and i have a doubt (i dont know if this is the right place for it, but ill give it a try)
I have a bass and an Audigy 2 ZS Platinium =), and i want to know if I can simply plug the bass directly in the front panel (LineIn2) and record or should i do something else to get better sound quality?

What's the best way to master the bass drum track to make it sound different from the bass? And why is the bass i record, which i record directly, sound blurry and muddy and each note is not precise?

Wonder how many of you appreciate these? My family has one and although they don't know how to string it it totally rocks.

Please, can someone help me with any piece of gear that can summ the low end. I need to be able to select the frequencies, say 120hz down and be able to put those freq's in mono. This piece of gear needs to be of high quality. I'm having problems with this going to vinyl.
