Cheaper Solo Recording
I have been trying to record using a mic and a quarter inch to eigth inch converter. I am attempting to record a piano, guitar, drums, and vocals seperately to get a semi-decent demo. I have not been getting very good results. I am basically looking for a mic that i can use with my computer and without having to spend over 200 or purchase an interface.

Cheap, yet effective, way for recording Acoustic Drums
Hello Everyone! I've been looking for a forum like this for a while now, and its funny to find out that all along there was a Recording.org! Nice!
Anyways...
good and cheap vocal mic
I'm looking for a good and cheap vocal mic. It will be used on all kinds of vocals, all from the highest pithed female vocals to deepest male vocals and metal growling and screams.
I don't have a big budget as I am a poor student ;) but I would rather prefer that you'd recommend a little expensive mic over a crappy one :) Just the best for the money.
thanks in advace.

Cheap monitors or a good grot-box?
Hi everyone,
My current "monitoring" setup is a pair of Boston Acoustics CR8s hi-fi speakers and a Yamaha subwoofer. I get some translation issues with this system, especially in the upper mid-range.
I'm considering going with either a set of cheap monitors (under $500, was looking at MSP5s) or getting a pair of Avantone Mixcubes. I plan on leaving the BAs connected as well.

Hot Rodding a cheap Tube Pre
I have an ART Tube pre. I just tried to fix it with a groove tube but it didn't work are there different types of 12AX7 tubes (not brands)? The designs between both look much different.

Good/Cheap combo amp?
Im looking for a good, cheap combo amp in the neighborhood of $299 or less. Somthing that will sound good with a mic jammed in its speaker. I don't know how many watt's or what size of speaker you would want to have to get a good sound for recording.

Cheapest 2 channel firewire interface for bedroom recording?
PreSonus Inspire?
I'm looking for something for my friend who sings and plays piano and just wants to get a relatively clean recording. Right now she's just using her computer's built in mic/card and getting very noisy results without the ability to adjust the input gain. So I'm looking for a very simple firewire interface. Budget is the main consideration.
Really really cheap preamp
I would like to improve the quality of my vocals a bit, but I have no money. Would this make any noticeable change?
