Comparison between a Powermac G5 dual and a powerbook

I recently bought a Powerbook G4 1.67 and I definitely need more CPU power so I have decided to go for a Powermac G5. I am not sure which one I should go for and I need your help. How fast is the lowest end (2.0GHz dual) G5 going to be compared to the Powerbook G4? How many more plugins, effects can I use in it? I do orchestral music too. Does anyone have any statistics?

Budget/Midrange Preamp Comparison

Hey guys,

I don't post here often but I sure have gotten a lot of good info from this forum. I did a comparison of several midrange pres and recorded acoustic guitar clips that I posted on the TapeOp board in the Gear Talk section. The pres consist of Mackie VLZ, PreSonus BlueTube, PreSonus MP20, ART Pro Channel, Aphex 207, and Electro Harmonix 12AY7.

My experience/comparison between a Powerbook and a PC

I had a post a couple of days back asking about making a choice between a PC (3.2GHz with 2Gig RAM) and a Powerbook (1.67GHz with 2Gig RAM). I already made the switch from a PC to a Powerbook and am very happy about it. Powerbook is a little slow when it comes to opening software applications but overall it functions smoothly.

wanna sell my 002r, M_AUDIO comparison?

Hey all, okay I searched and couldn't find an answer...

the day has finally come when digi lets go of their tight ass restrictions. Anyway, I wanna get rid of my 002r and get something to replace it on the m-audio end of things (I also use DP and cant stand the core audio driver hence the need to get something else).

DAW Software comparison - PT, Logic, Cubase, Cakewalk, etc.

I am buying a new studio. I want to be able to record a live band all playing at the same time (about 12 mics). I want to be able to occassionally fix a tuning or timimg problem (for a singer's out of tune note or a drummers late snare hit). I want to do automated mix down. I will not be doing MIDI.
