Description
A digital audio workstation (DAW) is an electronic device or application software used for recording, editing and producing audio files. DAWs come in a wide variety of configurations from a single software program on a laptop, to an integrated stand-alone unit, all the way to a highly complex configuration of numerous components controlled by a central computer. Regardless of configuration, modern DAWs have a central interface that allows the user to alter and mix multiple recordings and tracks into a final produced piece.

New DAW for NUENDO

I already have the delta 1010 and the delta 44 so i'm decent with sound cards. My current system is a celeron 2.6 ghz with 256 mb ram an 80 gig hard drive. I know a decent amount about building computers I just don't know what audio applications need. Should I go for broke with the processor and mobo or should I invest in quality ram or value ram but a lot of it.

Recommended DAW vendors

After reading lots of great information in this forum, I have decided that I am WAY too lazy to build a DAW from scratch, and want to get someone to do it for me. I have been impressed with the selection at Puget, and to a certain extent adk, but I am wondering what other good companies are out there. Thanks in advance for any help that you are able to provide.

I'm about to begin sound recording, design, and mixing on an indie film (I've posted this query in the audio for video forum as well...) and am finalizing my gear list.
