Description
An acronym for Digital Audio Workstation A digital audio workstation (DAW) is an electronic device or application software used for recording, editing and producing audio files. DAWs come in a wide variety of configurations from a single software program on a laptop, to an integrated stand-alone unit, all the way to a highly complex configuration of numerous components controlled by a central computer. Regardless of configuration, modern DAWs have a central interface that allows the user to alter and mix multiple recordings and tracks into a final produced piece.

Choosing my Sonica-x DAW

Hi,

I decided to start this post here so everybody can benefit from it. I know that Sonica-X Tech support is here around, so I want to keep this as Technical as possible and skip all the Marketing :) I know i can have this conversation in private with the company, but again, i think it would be usefull for everybody... if not, moderator, feel free to delete this post :)

Why are PC DAW recommendations always superseeded parts?

Why is it that when ever I read information on building a PC DAW the parts that are recommended are outdated parts? It seems that it is done with everything from Mother board to RAM?

Why are nForce 3 boards recommended over nForce 4?
Socket 754 over 939?
Single channel Ram over Double channel?
AGP graphics over PCI-E?
