So the Mackie board I usually use for live sound doesn't have any built in effects, but I would like to use delay on vocals. How do I go about chaining a Boss DD7 delay pedal? Do I use the insert channel? Or just patch it through before it hits the board?

Does anyone happen know why there is a playback delay when recording on to my laptop?

Even when an instrument is plugged directly into the laptop, there is a half a second or so delay between playing the instrument and hearing it through the headphones.

This is obviously quite a hindrance! Any ideas would be gratefully received

Whats the simplest way to add delay to a vocal phrase? I simply want to repeat an end of a vocal line. Am I over thinking this? Do I use automation?
