What is the best plugin at getting the classic analog delay sound? Not just looking for a dampen high and low freqs but a model of the vintage effect.

In particular - analog delay with heavy feedback used in reggae/dub...

Hey everyone,

I just recorded some fantastic drum tracks using Cubase on a G5 that has incredible processing power and memory...
the problem I'm having right now is that in trying to overdub some guitar parts there is a delay before Cubase reads the signal and so the drums and guitar are not in sync...
I think it has to do with either :

I work with Sonar 4 and Terratec Universe is my sound card.
When i transfer/record midi to audio track. .have a delay( not a same time from midi to audio).

first question: delay and reverb are placed after the Preamp in your signal chain right?

mic/preamp/delay/reverb/soundcard is this right?

second question: where would a EQ be placed in this signal chain?

i'm running Pro Tools with an mbox and i'm getting a delay through the playback like a split second. i know how to get rid of the delay in Sonar but i can't get it to go away with this Pro Tools. i also would like to know if it is possible to hook the Pro Tools to a Roland VS -2480 for interface to control levels with the faders. any knowledge would be appreciated.

I have got cuebase se but i only have an AC97 soundcard. as a result of this poor soundcard i am getting time delays between when i play notes using my midi keyboard and when they come out as sound. i think getting a better soundcard would solve the problem but as i am running the software on a laptop i would need an external soundcard.
