I am putting together a first PC-Based recording system and I have all the components but the Audio card/controller.

While I was tempted to post this on the 'Studio' board as well since mic selection and technique are factored in, I think it makes the most sense here on the Gear forum.

I am trying to record audio through a mic to my computer via the mixer (Behringer UB1002), but I can't figure out how to route it through the mixer to record...or my other option was to record to a miniDV deck. I attempted to record audio only to the deck but nothing plays back. Do I think I have the wiring correct. Need advice on the best way to record sound.

i wanna get a laptop as a desktop replacement to run Pro Tools 002 rack. any suggestions? i dont really know laptops that well... :?

hello, I would like to ask everyone here about those three companies' sound cards/audio interfaces. Please give me your opinions on these three. 1. Quality of their converter 2. Their compatibilities with other softwares 3. Quality of their Mic preamps 4. Which one would you chose and why? I am looking to buy one of these. I am on Mac G4/Logic Pro.

After reading through the forum for a few hours...

I've been playing for years and would like to record @ home.
I have looked into the M-Box and then discovered the 002.

hey people ive got a digi 002 rack with the command 8 and i dont have a soundcard installed. Now i can only listen to some audio if my digi 002R is turned on and i cant hear video and sound clips.

If i wanted to hear say windows media player would i have to install a seperate sound card? and get new speakers? (if i dont want to turn on my 002r)

:roll: Got the 002 coming, but i'm not sure if a dual G4 1.25 will give me enough cpu power.

can any one tell me...if there is a way to use 2 softwares at a time in Digi 002R. .cuz i normally work on Sony Vegas5.0 and Sound Forge and Cubase at a time and pro tools... too the thing is when i use another application it gives device busy...ok when i turn all the applications off then open the desired application again it gives the same error...anyone has a solution plz guide...
